Welcome to the Freedom House – A safe haven for families experiencing homlessness
Our Mission
Family Promise of Beaufort County’s mission is to provide temporary shelter, family stability and permanent housing solutions for homeless families with children by mobilizing resources from interfaith and secular communities.

Shelter Program
Who We Serve
Families may stay for up to 90 days while receiving a full range of support services. Once they transition into permanent housing, they remain in our 12-month follow-up program for continued support and success.
Who We Serve
The Freedom House serves:
- Parents or legal guardians with minor children
-  Families experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of losing housing
- Individuals who are able to maintain full-time employment
- Families willing to live in a shared, supervised environment
Our Shelter Program Includes:
- Â Comprehensive case management
- Â Job search and employment assistance
- Â Referrals to medical care
- Â Support with childcare and school enrollment
- Â Help finding safe, affordable housing
-  Transportation assistance when available
Life Skills for Long-Term Success
- Â Household and time management
- Â Positive parenting techniques
- Â Budgeting and financial planning
- Â Essential tools to support long-term independence

Family Programs
Shelter Program

Housing Stabilization Program
Our Housing Stabilization Program offers critical stabilization support for families transitioning from shelter to permanent housing.
Homeless Prevention Program
We work with you to address underlying issues, help you create and live within a budget, navigate community resources, and provide rental assistance on a short-term basis to prevent your family from becoming homeless.
